Geri's Game

I recently watched a very clever Pixar short film entitled Geri's Game. It occurred to me that it might fun to use these shorts to revive the rusty analytical skills students haven't used in awhile. Some of the shorts are laden with conflicts, themes, symbols, imagery, character motivation, dialogue and satire. It seems like a fun first day activity that could get them thinking about "reading" the world around them and the importance of that skill. Plus, it revives the literary terms they buried last May.
